Del. River Port Authority's Internal Watchdog Resigning His Post

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- The inspector-general for the Delaware River Port Authority is calling it quits next month.
Thomas Raftery was hired two years ago by the DRPA as part of the bistate agency's much-ballyhooed reform efforts.
His task was to root out corruption and inefficiencies in the agency.
Raftery, who worked for the FBI for 23 years, today confirmed to KYW Newsradio that he will resign effective October 17th.
He's not discussing specifics, upon the advice of his attorney, but he has had a hard time doing his job almost from the start. First, there was the question of his salary. More recently, there have been battles with various board members.
DRPA officials did not immediately provide a comment in response.
