Del. Police: Woman Awoke To Find Home Intruder Choking Her
MAGNOLIA, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware are investigating after a woman sleeping inside her home awoke to find a man choking her.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the Meadowbrook Acres development on Monday.
A 27-year-old woman was reportedly sleeping with her five-year-old daughter inside a bedroom of the home when she was woken up by an unknown male choking her.
The woman fought her attacker until the daughter woke up, possibly scaring off the intruder.
The victim and her child then left the residence and went to a neighbor's house, where she called police.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.
The five-year-old was not injured.
The suspect is described as a male who is about 6'0" tall and was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap and sweatshirt.
