Del. Police Investigating Marijuana Grow Operation In Wooded Area

CAMDEN, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware are investigating a marijuana grow operation in Camden after receiving an anonymous tip.

Delaware State Troopers responded to a wooded area near Almshouse Road and south of Westville Road around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, where they discovered 855 marijuana plants weighing about 380 lbs growing in a cleared area.

An irrigation system had been set up by the suspects, who apparently used a gas powered generator connected to a pump in order to draw water from a nearby stream.

Police also found tools at the site including hoes, a machete and a pick axe as well as two tents, sleeping bags and several articles of men's clothing.

Anyone with information on the grow operation is asked to contact police.
