Del. National Guard Base In New Castle Cleared After Explosives Scare

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – An investigation into possible explosives at a Delaware National Guard base is over.

The incident began after a truck reportedly making a delivery set off the sensors at the gates of the Delaware National Guard Base at the New Castle County Airport.

The UPS truck arrived at the entry gate of the base around 10 a.m.

Something inside the vehicle apparently set off the sensors, indicating the presence of explosives.

An ordnance disposal team was reportedly investigating four packages at the gate, and the gate was been shut down.

The truck was reportedly cleared and normal operations resumed around noon.
