Del. Man Arrested On Drugs, Weapons Charges

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Delaware state police say a man has been arrested on drugs and weapons charges after he crashed his van while being chased by troopers.

Police say 27-year-old Reginald M. Kornegay was pulled over in Newark on Saturday after he failed to stop for a traffic violation and then crashed his van.

Authorities say they searched Kornegay's van and found one bag of heroin and two cigars containing marijuana.

They say detectives also found 28.6 grams of marijuana and a sawed-off shotgun during a search of his Newark apartment.

It wasn't clear if Kornegay had a lawyer, and no phone number could immediately be found for him.

He was being held on $33,000 cash bail at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
