Del. Fire Marshal: 2 Arrests In Church Fires

FELTON, Del., (CBS) -- The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office says two arrests have been made in connection with three church fires in Felton that occurred last Tuesday.

According to the State Fire Marshal's office, deputy fire marshals apprehended 26-year-old Alex J. Harrington Jr. Monday afternoon. Officials say he was charged with three counts of Arson in the 2nd degree, three counts of Burglary in the 3rd degree, and three counts of Conspiracy in the 2nd degree.

The State Fire Marshal's office says other deputy fire marshals apprehended 25-year-old Joseph Skochelak. Officials say he was charged with three counts of Arson in the 2nd degree, three counts of Burglary in the 3rd degree, and three counts of Conspiracy in the 2nd degree.

The State Fire Marshal's office says Harrington and Skochelak have been committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $30,000 cash bond for each person.

The investigation was a result of a cooperative effort of the Delaware State Fire Marshal's office, the Delaware State Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
