DeCosey Lifts Temple To 63-61 Win Over Central Florida

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Quenton DeCosey scored 16 points, including the game-winning jumper with 3.1 seconds left, and Temple edged Central Florida 63-61 on Saturday.

Central Florida tied the game when Daiquan Walker made two of three free throws with a minute left. DeCosey fired an airball 3 near the end of the shot clock but UCF lost the ball out of bounds. DeCosey's desperation 3 as the shot-clock expired produced a long rebound that Temple's Josh Brown corralled.

After a timeout at 20.6 seconds, DeCosey dribbled the time down, then worked his way to the free throw line where he pumped-faked a defender out of the way and swished the winner, keeping Temple's NCAA hopes alive.

The Owls (18-10, 12-4 American), who got 18 points from Obi Enechionyia, are a half-game ahead of SMU, which plays Sunday, atop the league standings.

Walker had 21 points and Tacko Fall had 13 points and 14 rebounds for UCF (11-16, 5-11).
