Deaths From Flu In Delaware Climb To 26

DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Delaware health officials say the number of flu-related fatalities this season has risen to 26.

Officials say the rate of new cases has declined, but are warning Delaware residents that this year's flu strain is particularly deadly.

Officials say this season's flu strain is nearly four times as deadly as the flu that circulated in late 2009. Officials also say the flu is particularly dangerous for seniors.

Officials say all but three of those who died of the flu this season were over the age of 65, and all had other medical conditions.

Officials say 21 deaths occurred in New Castle County, two in Kent and three in Sussex.
