Death Of Philadelphia Man Found In Suitcase Ruled Homicide

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The death of a Philadelphia man found stuffed in a suitcase near the airport late last week has officially been ruled a homicide.

The Delaware County Medical Examiner says 40-year-old Scott Berheisel suffered multiple blunt force injuries and a stab wound to the neck.

Authorities say they found his body in a red leather suitcase just off the 1000 block of 2nd Street in Tinicum Township on Thursday afternoon. Police say a man walking his dog noticed the suitcase in the weeds and a strong foul odor coming from it. Investigators say Bernheisel's body may have been inside for three to five days.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tinicum Township Police or the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.
