Deadly Crash On Route 30 Bypass In Chester County

CALN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Police are investigating a deadly accident in Chester County Tuesday morning.

The deadly crash happened at about 9 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Route 30 bypass right before the Reeceville Road exit.

Chopped 3 HD was over the scene where it showed a car that appeared to have lost control and ended up on an embankment under an overpass.

Investigators say there was one fatality. The identity of the victim was not immediately released.

As a result of the crash, the eastbound lanes of the Route 30 bypass were closed for nearly three hours. The lanes re-opened shortly after 11:30 a.m.

Police are investigating whether ice may have played a role in the crash.

The deadly crash remains under investigation.
