1 Dead, 2 Others Injured After Being Struck By Truck In Delaware County

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- A deadly accident shut down a portion of I-95 northbound in Chester, Delaware County for nearly five hours Monday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 at milemarker 6.

Pennsylvania State Police say  a vehicle became disabled between the left and center lanes after driving through a puddle and striking a barrier.

The four occupants of the car got out to inspect the damage. Three of the four occupants were then struck by a delivery truck that was traveling in the left lane.

One of the victims, identified by police as 63-year-old Doris Ann Goldwire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others were seriously injured and taken to Crozer Chester Hospital.

The driver of the delivery truck was not injured in the incident.

An investigation is underway.
