Darren Sproles Out Sunday Vs. Ravens

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Darren Sproles will not play on Sunday vs. the Ravens, Eagles coach Doug Pederson announced on Friday.

Sproles took a vicious hit last Sunday in the fourth quarter from Washington Redskins safety Deshazor Everett during a punt return play. Everett hit Sproles in the head before the ball got there.

Sproles was forced to leave the game with a head injury and went into concussion protocol after the game.

Everett also had a helmet-to-helmet hit on Brent Celek. He was flagged for both hits and later suspended $48,000 ($24,000 for each hit).

Eagles left tackle Jason Peters called the hit on Sproles a "cheap shot."

Sproles, 33, has been the Eagles' most explosive weapon this season. He has 766 yards from scrimmage in 13 games this season.
