DA: Suspect Charged With Rape, Assault Of Female Inside Montgomery County Tanning Salon

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities have announced charges against a man who is accused of raping a female inside of a tanning salon in Montgomery County.

Officials say on Wednesday, February 25, police responded to a local tanning salon for the report of a sexual assault. Upon arrival, the victim told officers an unknown male asked if he could use the bathroom on the premises.

The female told police they then entered a closed room together, and he showed her he had a knife and demanded she perform a sex act on him.

The victim told police she was terrified, so she complied with his commands and he left the salon.

Officials say they were able to identify the alleged suspect as Marshall Gibson with the use of surveillance footage from the studio and further investigation.

Authorities say Gibson has been charged with rape, involuntary sexual intercourse, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and related charges.

He was arraigned on March 11 and his bail was set at $25,000. Officials say he was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail.
