Homicide rate 13% lower than last year, DA Krasner says

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia's homicide rate continues to be lower than last year's record numbers. The district attorney gave the latest numbers as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

To date, 41 people were killed according to the released homicide statistics.

"On the same date last year, they were at 47. That represents, as of this moment, a decrease of about 13%," Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said.

He said last week's six homicides were a lower rate than during the pandemic.
