Cyber-Bullying Prevention Conference Held In Abington

ABINGTON, Pa. (CBS) -- School administrators attended a conference at Penn State Abington Tuesday on a school's responsibility when it comes to kids and cyber-bullying.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) hosted the cyber-bullying conference.
"Cyber-bullying is really online aggression ... it is meant to hurt somebody's reputation or their feelings. It is meant to humiliate them. Sometimes it actually crosses the line and there are threats involved," said Randi Boyette, the ADL's Regional Education Director
One of the speakers was John Halligan of New York. His son Ryan committed suicide at the age of 13 after being cyber-bullied. He also speaks to students and tells them if they are being bullied or know someone who is, to tell someone.
"Don't be a bystander, that they are loved beyond belief, and if you are feeling the way my son felt, you got to find someone to help you, you know don't keep this to yourself," Halligan said.
