Crews Work To Repair Water Main Break In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An early morning water main break at 7th and Locust Streets in Center City is blocking traffic and affecting dozens of homeowners.

The Philadelphia Water Department says ten homes and a condo building with 25 units are without water.

The 10-inch main flooded the streets when it broke around 2 a.m. Wednesday. The flow was shut-off by about 6:30 a.m.

Crews were expected to begin repairs around 9 a.m. The work  is expected to take at least eight hours.

Local detours are in effect.
