47 Displaced After Apartment Complex Fire In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Forty-seven people are out of their homes as officials work to determine the cause of a fire at an apartment complex in Northeast Philadelphia.

The fire broke out shortly after 3:30 Thursday at the Villages At Pine Valley, an active adult living community in Fox Chase.

Chopper 3 over the scene as crews were able to quickly gain control of the blaze.

The building was evacuated and no one was injured.

Fire officials say workers were inside doing some construction near the scene of the fire before it started.

CBS 3 is told SEPTA buses were called to keep residents warm while the fire was being extinguished.

The American Red Cross provided help for food, clothing, medications and lodging to those who needed it.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
