18 Displaced After Apartment Fire In Bucks County

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Firefighters responded to an apartment building fire in Bucks County Monday afternoon.

Crews battled flames at the Franklin Commons Apartments on the 1400 block of Cardinal Drive in Bensalem.

Officials say the fire originated inside of a first floor apartment and spread to a second floor apartment and attic.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

Battalion Chief Sponheimer says the fire was a result of maintenance personnel attempting to thaw a frozen pipe with a heat gun.

Authorities say no one was injured.

Residents from 18 apartments were displaced as a result of the blaze. Management from Franklin Commons is working on housing arrangements.
