Man dies after being pulled from car in Cresheim Creek in Philadelphia, police say

Driver hospitalized after car falls into creek in Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, police say

A man has died after his car went into Cresheim Creek in Chestnut Hill on Sunday afternoon, Philadelphia police said.

At around 4 p.m., first responders responded to a crash where a car had flipped into the creek near Emlen Street and Lincoln Drive.

Investigators said the 65-year-old driver lost control of his car, struck a downed guard rail, and flipped upside down into the creek.

He was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. 

The crash remains under investigation.
