Credit Card Scam Hits Two Local Primark Stores

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Primark shoppers might want to check their credit card statements if they bought items at either the King of Prussia or Willow Grove locations.

Primark says skimming devices that are used to steal credit card information were found on payment terminals at several locations including King of Prussia and Willow Grove.

Skimmers are small devices that are placed over payment card readers and are typically undetectable by the user.

The company says transactions from July 29 through October 17, 2016 may be affected. But not all credit and debit card transactions were impacted.

An investigation is underway and so far no arrests have been made.

Customers are urged to carefully check their credit card statements and report any false charges.
