Crash on Lincoln Drive in Philadelphia leaves 1 dead, 4 injured, police say

1 dead, 4 others injured in crash on Lincoln Drive, Philadelphia police say

A multi-vehicle crash on Lincoln Drive in Philadelphia left one person dead and four other people injured Thursday night.

Emergency crews responded to the crash just before 9:30 p.m. on Lincoln Drive near Gypsy Lane. 

Police said a preliminary investigation determined that a white Toyota 4Runner traveling northbound on Lincoln Drive crossed into the southbound lane and struck a Mercedes-Benz C-300 head-on before colliding with a black Nissan Rogue.

The Toyota 4Runner overturned multiple times, ejecting the 65-year-old driver. That driver was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Four other people, including an 8-year-old girl, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Traffic was backed up in the area, and Lincoln Drive was closed in both directions during the investigation. The road has since reopened.
