Doctors Reveal Why 'Craigslist Hero' Cannot Donate Kidney

BERLIN, NJ (CBS) – Doctors revealed the reason why a kidney transplant arranged by Craigslist had to be cancelled at the last minute.

Doctors say the potential donor, Glenn Calderbank, of West Berlin, has liver disease.

His condition was discovered by doctors on Tuesday, the day the transplant was supposed to happen.

Calderbank made national headlines after her stumbled upon a Craigslist ad. It was posted by the husband of a local woman with renal failure who needed a kidney.

Calderbank offered to help and it was a match.

But his disease means he is ineligible to donate organs.
