Couple Creates Funding Page To Help Owners Who Lost Everything In Columbus Farmers Market Fire

SPRINGFIELD Twp. NJ (CBS) – Less than a week after a 4-alarm blaze destroyed several businesses in the Columbus Farmers Market in Burlington County, NJ,  a couple has created a GoFundMe page to help alleviate at least some of the financial stress for the owners who lost everything.

Jennifer and Colin used to own one of the stores that was lost in the fire. While they no longer own the business, they say they have a deep connection with the families in the market. Jennifer says a few years ago her son suffered a brain injury in an accident and their friends at the Farmers Market joined together and helped them financially, and emotionally, when they needed them the most.

Now she and her husband Colin are hoping to return the favor.

Additionally, Jennifer explains that this is the time of year the businesses were gearing up for Christmas, and they most likely just restocked all of their inventory, making the blaze even more devastating.

She says that the families work day-to-day, meaning if the market is not open, they do not make any money.

The goal of the GoFundMe is to provide the owners the support they need to keep moving forward.
