Cosby's Lawyer Defends Embattled Comedian On 'CBS This Morning'

NEW YORK, N.Y. (CBS) --  Bill Cosby's legal team has promised a vigorous defense to clear the comedian's name in court and are already speaking to national media outlets a day after Cosby was charged with sexual assault.

Attorney Monique Pressley took to the airwaves on "CBS This Morning" as she continues to defend her client, Bill Cosby.

She says similar allegations that have been pouring in have nothing to do with what is happening in Montgomery County.

"What this DA has to do is prove the facts of this case. It's not the facts of other unsubstantiated cases that have been allowed to run unbridled in the media. It's the fact of this case," Pressley said.

She says Cosby's life is being used as a political football.

Former Montgomery County DA Bruce Castor's decision to not charge Cosby when Andrea Constand first made the allegations in 2005 was a hot topic in this year's DA's race.

Castor would lose to now DA-elect Kevin Steele.
