Coroner Probes Female Inmate Found Dead In Doylestown

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS/AP) — An autopsy was set on the body of a female inmate found dead in her cell at a county jail in Doylestown, Bucks County.

The Bucks County coroner's office says results of Sunday's autopsy were not immediately available. The name of the woman wasn't being released, either.

County spokesman Chris Edwards says the Bensalem woman, who was about 50 years old, was found Saturday morning at the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown Township.

The woman was being held on a parole violation, and was being held in a detox area before she died.

Authorities didn't immediately say whether the woman was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
