Coroner: Employee Working Beneath Truck Dragged, Killed

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A coroner says a man was lying beneath a tractor-trailer to repair it when another worker at the same Pennsylvania company unwittingly drove the vehicle, dragging the first man to his death.

Officials at Snyder Excavating in Jackson Township didn't answer the phone Thursday. A voicemail message says the company is closed to mourn the death of an employee.

Cambria County Coroner Jeffrey Lees says that man is 30-year-old Josh Weyandt, of Johnstown.

The coroner and township police were investigating and have not released the name of the other employee. The coroner has ruled the death an accident.

Lees says Weyandt was fixing an airline hose and lying between several wheels near the back of the trailer, apparently out of sight to the other worker who drove about 85 feet.
