Coronavirus Latest: Amtrak To Resume Acela Service Due To Anticipated Increase In Demand

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Amtrak is resuming Acela service on the Northeast Corridor beginning on June 1. The passenger rail service is also increasing the number of other roundtrips it offers daily.

Officials say the ramped-up service is in response to an anticipated increase in demand.

The trains will only be booked at 50% capacity and will be sanitized regularly.
