HARRISBURG, Pa., (CBS) -- The battle over Pennsylvania's Voter ID law is apparently over for the rest of the year and maybe for good.

After a Commonwealth Court judge decided not reconsider his ruling against the Voter ID law, the Corbett administration has announced it will not appeal the case to the state Supreme Court.

"The administration will work with the General Assembly to address the issues surrounding Voter ID… however, through the current legislative term he believes that we must remain focused on passing a budget and addressing other ongoing legislative priorities," says Pagni.

Meaning the Voter ID issue is on the back burner for the rest of the year as Corbett faces a tough re-election battle that could put a Democrat in the governor's office next year.
