Cops: Alleged Northeast Philly Bush Bandit Turns Himself In

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a man caught on surveillance video stealing a shrub from a garden in Northeast Philadelphia has turned himself in after the video circulated on social media.

Authorities say on April 30, Joseph Medycki, 40, allegedly stole a shrub that was planted in the front garden of a home on the 8000 block of Agusta Street in Bustleton.

Police say a female reported to authorities that she captured the incident on her home video surveillance, and the footage was circulated on social media.

As a result, police say Medycki turned himself in.

Officials say he was arrested and charged with theft-unlawful taking and theft-receiving stolen property.
