COPS: Man Threatens Worker With 'Dirty Needle' After Stealing Baby Formula In NE Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a grocery store in Northeast Philadelphia.

Authorities say around 6:15 p.m. Monday, a man entered the ShopRite on Frankford Avenue in Mayfair, selected four cans of baby formula and left the store without paying.

When an employee stopped the suspect, police say he pulled out a syringe and said, "I have a dirty needle."

Authorities say the man then dropped the items and fled the scene in the parking lot.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 20-years-old, 6'0", around 170-180 pounds with a thin build. He was wearing a white tank top, black jeans, black sneakers and a black book bag.
