Man Charged With Murder After Allegedly Shooting Wife With Crossbow

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 40-year-old man is charged with murder  after police say he fatally shot his wife with a crossbow in Northeast Philadelphia Sunday night.

Authorities say Paul Kuzan was arrested and admitted to shooting and killing his wife, Pamela Nightlinger.

The shooting happened on the 3100 block of Willits Road.

Police say the arrow penetrated the victim's chest, went through the couch and then into a wall.

Authorities say the couple had been arguing and neighbors tell police Kuzan had been in a downward spiral in recent weeks.

Police say it appears that children also live in the house, but they were away, in a different part of the state.

The victim's family released the following statement regarding Pamela Nightlinger's death:

"Pamela's children are grieving the loss of their mother and they are surrounded by much love by their family and friends. We miss Pamela and please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time."

Kuzan is charged with Murder and Possessing an Instrument of Crime.

Pamela left behind two young daughters. Her family set up a GoFundMe page to help with the daughters.
