It happened at about quarter after 12 Thursday afternoon near the intersection of North Tioga and Emerald Streets.

Police say the 87-year-old man heard a knock at the door. He asked who it was, and a voice said there was a gas leak.

The homeowner opened the door and four men forced their way inside.

The robbers took $1200 in cash and a cell phone.

The suspects were last seen walking northbound on Emerald Street.
