Cops: Homeowner Shot During Home Invasion In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating a violent home invasion in North Philadelphia that sent a man to the hospital.

Authorities say around 1:21 p.m. Friday, a man pushed his way into a home on the 900 block of West York Street.

Police say the suspect shot the 48-year-old homeowner once in the leg and took a wallet containing $35.00.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Police say the victim was taken to Temple Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Authorities describe the suspect as a 21-year-old black male with a thin build. He was wearing a blue shirt and white pants.

The investigation is ongoing.
