Cops: 2 Injured In Hammer Attack In Bucks County

WARMINSTER, Pa. (CBS) – Police say a suspect was taken into custody and charged with allegedly attacking a man with a hammer.

Authorities say they responded to the 600 block Parmentier Road in Warminster for a report of an armed suspect, allegedly armed with a hammer and a knife, accused of assaulting a victim.

Police say the man suffered lacerations to the back of his head. Another victim, who authorities say tried to intervene, was shoved to the floor and suffered a broken arm.

Police say the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Barry Benek, of Willow Grove, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, REAP, harassment, PIC, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

Authorities say Benek was arraigned and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000.
