South Jersey's First Concussion Care Center To Open

CAPE MAY COURTHOUSE, N.J., (CBS) -- On Wednesday Cape Regional Medical Center will officially open South Jersey's first Concussion Care Center.

It's part of their rehabilitation facilities run by experts in occupational and physical therapy.

The Center features the latest technology in measuring motor skills, balance and cognitive functions that help detect concussions.

Staff has trained under one of the NFL's leading experts on concussions.

Experts estimate that 4 to 5 million Americans suffer concussion each year including about 1 in 5 high school athletes.

There will be open house sessions Wednesday, December 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, December 3 from 4 to 6 p.m.
