Commuters Brave The Frigid Weather In Upper Darby

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) -- All morning and afternoon, people braved the frigid air at 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby.

At 4 a.m., it was six degrees, but with the wind chill, the temperature felt like negative fourteen.

People did all they could to stay warm. That meant extra layers for Anthony Freeman, including a towel around his neck.

"Stay warm; it's very cold out here. This is no joke," said Freeman.

And the temperature only dropped as the sun rose. At 7 a.m., it was just four degrees, with a wind chill of negative seventeen.

"It feels like Antarctica…it is cold!" said Ronnie outside the terminal.

Aphea is a home health aide who was on her way to work: "I've got two hoodies, a long sleeve shirt and a sweater!"
