Cold And Wind Return To The Delaware Valley

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As the flurries roll in and roll out of the area this morning, the cold and wind are returning to the Delaware Valley.

We've already hit our high temperature for the day, which happened shortly after midnight. It's been a steady fall since then, and that trend will continue for the remainder of the day and into Friday morning. As the temperatures plummet, the winds are headed in the other direction. The winds are already beginning to pick up, so while the sun will return by the afternoon, don't count on as nearly pleasant of a day as yesterday.

Friday is going to be a cold and sunny day, but at least we won't have the pesky wind to contend with. On Saturday, clouds begin to roll in, part of the next clipper system that will be affecting us. Although the precipitation with it won't be heavy, this is looking like a sluggish storm that will be more of a nuisance than anything. Sunday will feature a light mix of precipitation; rain, possible freezing rain, and even some sleet. By Monday morning, the precipitation should turn to all snow, lingering into as late as Tuesday morning. We'll have to wait and see if any redevelopment and strengthening take place during this time, but as of right now none is expected.
