Police: Woman Shot, Man Barricaded In Home In Cobbs Creek

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police say they were called out to a domestic incident on Friday afternoon that left a woman shot in the city's Cobbs Creek section.

Authorities say police arrived to a home on the 200 block of S. Millick Street. Once on the scene, officials say the police were invited into the home.

Police say that the man inside the home started shooting at police from the kitchen. Authorities say the officers returned shots and struck the man. Police say the woman in the home was also shot in the arm.

Police say they believe the man and woman are possibly siblings. The woman was taken to Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities say the man then barricaded himself in the home.

Officials say the man was barricaded in the home for about an hour and a half with four children and two other adults in the home. Police say he was brought out on a stretcher after negotiating with SWAT team members.

He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.
