Philadelphia Police: Teen Critically Injured After Slamming Into Back Of Parked School Bus In Multi-Vehicle Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 19-year-old woman was critically injured after her vehicle slammed into the back of a parked school bus in a multi-vehicle crash in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia. Crews freed the woman who was trapped after her 2003 BMW became wedged in the rear of the school bus.

The accident happened in the area of 59th and Chestnut Streets in Cobbs Creek, just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say an 18-year-old man driving a black Scion swerved into the left lane and struck the BMW driven by the 19-year-old woman, causing her to crash into the back of the empty school bus.

Crews were able to free her and transported her to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

She's currently in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Police have no said what charges, if any, the driver of the Scion may face.
