City Residents Make Some Extra Cash Clearing A Path For Others

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The snow kept many cars off the street, but it didn't stop folks on foot in Center City.

The snow began piling up in the early hours of the morning along Broad Street Saturday. Plows cleared the way, and more snow would fall, sidewalks were the same for shovelers. People took turns clearing the sidewalks, rotating between shoveling and salting the pavement.

This storm has also brought thicker wallets for some city residents. Anthony McCoy made $250 bucks in three hours shoveling snow in Center City.

"A lot of snow, a lot of work, but at the end of the day you have bills to pay and nothing to do at home but sit at home and look at the walls," McCoy said. "Why not make some extra money."
