"Enable flexibility, make room for democracy, take the round building seriously, elevate maintenance and security, go green, facilitate gathering and connect to the parkway," were just some of the ideas brought up at the meeting.

First deputy commissioner of parks and facilities Mark Focht says the city plans on making $14 million of changes and renovations to Love Park.

"We will be spending the next 9 to 10 months doing design approvals," Focht said.

Focht says they hope to start construction on the park early next year, and should be finished sometime in 2017.
