Christmas 'Treecycling' Events Held Throughout Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Now that we are weeks removed from Christmas, residents throughout the Delaware Valley may be left wondering what to do with their tree.

This weekend, several communities throughout Philadelphia become "treecycling" spots, where people can bring their Christmas trees to be chipped and recycled.

This environmentally friendly alternative to putting used trees on the curb is offered at the following locations in Philadelphia this Sunday:

9:30am-12:30pm: Boy Scouts Headquarters Parking Lot at 22nd and Spring Streets

9:30am-12:30pm: Norwood Fontbonne School on Sunset Ave.

10:00am-4:00pm: Eastern State Penitentiary at 22nd & Brown Streets

12:00pm-4:00pm: Ridge Ave. and Scotts Lane

1:00pm-4:00pm: Gabbie's Garden on Chew Ave.

Before dropping off your tree, remember to remove all lights and decorations.
