Christie's Lawyer To Be Paid $650 Per Hour

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie's office has agreed to pay $650 per hour to the lawyer representing the governor's office in a traffic jam scandal. And the lawyer says that's a discount.

Christie's office released terms of the agreement Thursday night.

Randy Mastro says the fee is 40 percent less than he usually charges clients and 20 percent less than other attorneys in the New York office charge.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani's onetime chief of staff was hired to assist Christie's office in complying with subpoenas from a legislative panel and to help conduct an internal review of what happened.

Christie's former deputy chief of staff and other aides were allegedly behind a scheme to punish the Democratic mayor of Fort Lee by blocking George Washington bridge lanes.
