Christie Says Wife Wouldn't Move To D.C.
NEW YORK, NY (CBS) -- So why isn't New Jersey Governor Chris Christie a part of the incoming Trump administration? Christie spoke candidly about the situation during a New York radio sports talk show.
Christie has become a semi-regular on WFAN in the last few months with morning co-host Craig Carton. He was asked point blank why he wasn't working for his friend, President-elect Donald Trump, right now.
"He didn't offer me a job that I thought was exciting enough for me to leave the governorship and my family," Christie told Carton, "because Mary Pat made it really clear she wasn't coming to DC."
Not to mention the fact the Christies still has two children in school.
For what it's worth, the Wall Street Journal quotes Mister Trump as saying there'll be a place for Christie at some point. Then again, Christie has not-so-jokingly suggested he would like to be a talk show host after he leaves office. And the New York station will have an opening next year when veteran broadcaster Mike Francesa departs.
