Christie Misses Cut For Next Main GOP Presidential Debate

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) - Is it a bump in the road or a sign of real trouble?

When the Republicans running for President gather for their next debate, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will not be playing in prime time.

Fox Business sponsors the next debate on Tuesday night in Milwaukee. The network sets a threshold of 2.5% in four separate national polls for candidates to get on the main stage in prime time.

Eight made the cut. Christie didn't.

His reaction on the stump in New Hampshire...so what?

"What I'm going to continue to do is just be myself," Christie told reporters in Nashua Thursday night. "Whether that's on a different stage in Milwaukee or whether you want to put some podiums up here and invite some people up."

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee also fell below the line and will join Christie on the pre-debate debate.

Two Republicans who scored below one-percent -- Senator Lindsey Graham and former New York Governor George Pataki -- won't be invited to either encounter.
