Both Stigall and Demint will be at the National Constitution Center Tuesday night to discuss Demint's new book, Falling in Love with America Again.

Demint explained that his decision to resign his senatorial position to take one at a think tank in Washington came about because he wanted to influence public debate and opinion in a way politicians are not able to do.

"We haven't finished the job, and I was sorry to leave, but what I found out was, unless we win the debate with the American people, it doesn't matter who we elect. I use a quote from Milton Friedman a lot, where he said 'We have to create an environment in the country where even the wrong people will do the right thing once in office,' and that certainly is not the situation right now," he said.

Demint added that he remains optimistic that Republicans have a chance to re-take the White House in 2016.

"They've got a variation in a sense, depending on what type of folk we want. I just hope this time, as a conservative myself, that we will pave the way for someone to run on the right ideas, and conservatives won't divide themselves in the primary again and maybe end up with someone who is not as strong on the ideas we believe in," Demint said.

Tickets are still available to see Chris Stigall and Jim Demint at the National Constitution Center. For tickets and more information, visit: www.constitutioncenter.org.
