Choosing A Diet Doesn't Have To Be Difficult, Drexel Nutrition Doc Says

By Lynne Adkins

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- A recent study has revealed that eating a low carb, high fat diet may be better for weight loss and overall health than a low fat diet. All the data may leave us wondering... what should we eat?

Just about every week there's a new study out on what you should or shouldn't eat. Dr. Stella Volpe, Chair of the Department of Nutrition Sciences at Drexel University says make it easy, start with just two changes.

"One step can be ok, I'm gonna have a smaller bagle or only half a bagle with peanut butter as opposed to two or whatever it is and let's start there," she said. "And then I'm gonna change the quality of the food, if I'm eating a white bagle change it to whole grain."

She says portion control is the best way to cut out excess calories and help you shed those unwanted pounds.
