Free 'Chip Kelly Three-Bite' Sandwich Available Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Thanks to Chef Joe Shilling of the brand new PIG restaurant (712 W. Girard Ave), the "Chip Kelly three-bite" sandwich will be available for free from 12:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

So what is the "Chip Kelly three-bite" sandwich exactly?

Three bites, represent Kelly's three seasons as Philadelphia Eagles head coach.

The meat -- pork belly -- describes Kelly, physically.

The sandwich is on toast, because well, Kelly's time in Philly is toast.

Topped with Oregon blackberry jam and a steak right down through the middle.

"It came together because of Chip being gone, thank goodness, but sort of to promote 'Go Eagles' at the same," Shilling told CBSPhilly.com on Tuesday.

Shilling, who has been living in the Philadelphia area for 25-years, is an avid Eagles fan, often seen catering tailgates outside Lincoln Financial Field during home games.

"Eagles, Eagles, and more Eagles," the former Ritz-Carlton Chef said, when asked if he was a Philly sports fan.

Was Shilling happy to see Kelly fired?

"Oh God yeah," he said emphatically. "Who isn't?"

About 20 people waited in line Wednesday to get their hands on the sandwich.

The Chip Kelly slider, is a crowd pleaser.

"Oh it's nice and tender and juicy," said one person.

"I liked it a lot. It was seasoned just right, then the sweetness with the sauce just sets it right off," said another.

The three-bite sandwich normally sells for $3.
