Chip Kelly: 'O-Line Blocked Better, McCoy Ran Better'

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- "Are you the same player?"

It was the question LeSean McCoy was publicly asked multiple times leading up to the Eagles Week 12 matchup with the Titans. Each time, McCoy refused to answer.

On Sunday, McCoy emphatically quieted the critics, rushing for 130 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.

"We've stuck with him all along," Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said of McCoy on the Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show. "Some people may have not been as excited about him. I've said all along that he's our back. I thought he's done a really good job. I thought we blocked better up front. Our offensive line had a really good game, I thought, against these guys and LeSean did run better."

Listen to Chip Kelly on the 94WIP Morning Show:

Earlier in the week during a press conference, a furious McCoy walked away from the podium after publicly being questioned about a potential decline, for the second time in three days.

"They're human," Kelly said of his players' relationship with the media. "When you continue to hear the same things over and over again, you start to get irritated, but they need to block it out. They need to not pay attention to it and just have their confidence based upon their preparation."

Kelly, McCoy, and the Eagles shift their focus to, by far, the biggest game of the season. A Thanksgiving day meeting with the 8-3 Cowboys, in Dallas.

"We're excited about the challenge," Kelly said. "They're a good football team. They proved it last night. They were down by double digits last night and come back and won in New York, on the road. So, we've got a lot of respect for them. We're excited about the opportunity."

So, when will you celebrate Thanksgiving this year, Coach?

"I don't know if we're going to celebrate it," Kelly said. We'll see how the game goes."
