Chip Kelly: Alonzo Recovering, Murray Returns, Bradford Making Strides

By Joseph Santoliquito

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Eagles coach Chip Kelly updated the situations of DeMarco Murray and Kiko Alonzo, and how well Sam Bradford has looked in talking to the media on Saturday.

Murray has been sick, and Alonzo is recovering from a concussion suffered on Tuesday when the Eagles practiced at Lincoln Financial Field.

"He is going full today; there were a couple of guys who were sick, Jordan Matthews was sick, there was something going around," Kelly said in reference to where Murray is health wise, after a limited practice due to illness on Friday. "Kiko has to go through the concussion protocol. He didn't have a concussion history at Oregon, or at Buffalo. He hasn't had a history of it, and we're not worried about it now. [The concussion occurred] at the Linc on Tuesday. I don't know the specific play, but it was Tuesday at the Linc. He's here and he's working with the trainers."

As for Bradford, the news continues to be encouraging.

"I thought Sam had a good practice [on Friday]," Kelly said. "He's getting more comfortable the more 11-on-11s he gets, his pocket awareness and things like that. I think that's what we expected when we traded for him. That's typical of what we saw on film, and the type of guy that [offensive coordinator] Pat [Shurmur] coached when he had him in St. Louis. I thought he had a real good day yesterday and we have to continue to build on that."
